Local Student Wins National Fraternity/Sorority Competition

ed-pattersonFor the second year in a row, two St. Cloud State University students received first place in the Order of Omega Case Study Competition.

Patrick Patterson, who is pursuing a master’s degree in higher education administration, received the award along with senior Kari Dahl of St. Cloud. Patterson is the son of Dale and Mildred Patterson of Rockford. He and Dahl each received first place and $125 for their collaborative project.

The contest – in which teams of two have five hours to propose a course of action in response to real-life situations – featured 16 colleges and universities from across the United States. The competition was held Feb. 14 at the Mid-American Greek Council Association annual meeting in St. Louis, Mo.

St. Cloud State, located 70 miles northwest of the Twin Cities along the banks of the Mississippi River, offers its 17,000 students more than 200 undergraduate and graduate programs in business, math and science, social science, fine arts and education.
