Spring a perfect time for classic cars

Second Cannon car show coming up Saturday, June 6

Spring is in the air and autos are on the agenda for Cannon Township. On Satuday, June 6, 12 to 4 p.m. Bella Vista Auto Service, 6533 Belding Road, will host the second annual Cannon Classic Car show. Last year the first time event featured 75 classy classic cars and voters chose their three favorites for People’s Choice winners.

This year three cars will again earn trophies, and the first 100 classic cars to show up and register will receive dashboard plaques.  Ted Trocke, Bella Vista Auto owner and organizer of the event believes a car show is a nice way to spend a spring day and knows how much people love old cars. The first years event drew hundreds of visitors and, given nice weather, he hopes to top it this year, both in cars and visitors. “This year we will limit it to 150 cars,” Trocke said. The cars are all local, so visitors may see cars owned by people they know.

To register your classic car prior to the event, which is recommended but not required, call Trocke at (616) 874-4444 or stop by the shop to pick up a flier. Classic car owner’s should be on site by 11 a.m. Cars will be displayed at Bella Vista Auto and Cannon Town Center (right next door).
