I was born and raised in Cannonsburg, and I don't consider Mr. Kurylowicz the "King of Cannonsburg". He has helped revitilize the area. When I lived there (1962-1980) we knew everyone by name, we also looked out for eachother and took care of our neighbors and friends. It's the country and that's what we did. We didn't have gameboys, xboxes to entertain us, but we had baseball games at Townsend Park, or celebrated the 4th of July with the rest of Cannon Township Fire Department at Townsend Park. Sledding in Mr. Krueter's Christmas Farm, hiking the trail from Ramsdell to Sunfish Lake Rd. What about finishing up your trick or treating with cider and doughnuts at the fire barn?
One person doesn't make the town it is all of the people in that community. Whenever our family travels back to Rockford to see friends and family we ALWAYS go back to Cannonsburg for a trip down memory lane.

Editor's Response:
Sorry if you read that Don was taking credit, that would be my mistake in writing, he repeated very often that it wasn't him, but the people of the community itself that made difference. When I wrote King of Cannonsburg I kind of meant it as a joke, and worried it would sound the way you took it. Don would never call himself that, so that is a lesson to me to be more careful. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts.
