MVA 15 Black team wins national title

Three local girls bring home medals

Two-year-old club, Michigan Volleyball Academy (MVA) finished their winning season by sending several teams to the annual Junior Volleyball Directors Association tournament in Louisville, Ky. The MVA 15 Black squad won club-level national titles.

Coached by Brian Netzler, the MVA 15 team defeated Union (Ind.) 15 in three games, 16-25, 27-25 and 19-17. The team consists of Sidney Rodriguez, Murphy Heyer and Andrea Kacsits of Rockford; Abbie Fleener of Forest Hills Central; Emma Matthew of Forest Hills Eastern; Arielle Nausieda and Jordan Timmer of Lowell; Cassie Pelloni of Battle Creek Pennfield; and Kristen Reenders of Grand Haven.
