If you’ve strolled or biked along the Frederic Meijer White Pine Trail lately, you may have noticed plenty of comings and goings at The Carriage House, located on E. Bridge Street, just west of the Trail. Drywallers and painters have been on overtime, working nearly around the clock to finish the building for Rockford’s newest business, Poindexter’s Specialty Marketplace.
Slated for a mid August grand opening, owner Nick Poindexter notes he and his family have fallen in love with Rockford and he is working 24-7 to get his equipment moved in, signs hung, staff hired, and products delivered. “This is an incredible town, and to be located right in the heart of downtown with the Trail and so many family activities, it is the ideal spot for our market. We want to open in time to capture the summer crowds and set the table for fall regulars. We will be offering specialty smoked products, jerkys, salads, dips, seafood, and deli meat selections – perfect for a picnic, tailgate party, or lunches and dinners when you want quality products but are short on time.”
Carriage House owner Andy Gremel noted Poindexter’s Marketplace is a perfect fit for downtown Rockford. “There is nothing like Poindexter’s in West Michigan— we are excited that Nick an his wife Nicole have chosen to move their family to our community and open up this unique business.“
Poindexter noted the official opening date has not been set as it depends on final equipment and product deliveries. Stay tuned to your local paper for further details.
