Plainfield Fire Lt. Jeff Drake advises drivers to be extra careful of leaving animals or children in automobiles in the summer heat.
The department unlocked this car on Wednesday, July 29, after the keys were accidently locked in with a child in the vehicle. “It adds a little more danger,” he said of sunny days in summer. Drake said the
department responds to “too many” calls for aid where children or pets are left in vehicles. Even on cooler days temperatures in cars can heat up quickly to dangerous levels.
