The Humane Society of Kent County will host a low-cost vaccine clinic sponsored through their Kibble Konnection program on Sunday, August 23 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at their shelter, 3077 Wilson Ave. NW, Grand Rapids.
Low-cost vaccinations will be available to both Kibble Konnection clients and to the general public. However, individuals must be of low-income status and be able to provide proof of their eligibility. No appointment is necessary.
At the clinic, the Humane Society will offer the following vaccinations:
• Rabies for $15;
• Distemper Combo for $10;
• Bordatella for $10.
Pet ID microchips will be available for $10 as well. Heartworm and Feline Leukemia / FIV tests will not be offered. Payment will be accepted by cash or credit card only. All cats must be kenneled and dogs must be on a leash.
“Each day we receive phone calls from people looking for assistance in vaccinating their animals at a lower cost,” says Karen Terpstra, executive director for the Humane Society of Kent County. “We are seeing the same need with our Kibble Konnection clients. Through this clinic our goal is to ensure that quality veterinary care is available to pets whose owners cannot otherwise afford it and keep pets in their homes, happy and healthy where they belong.”
Kibble Konnection is a pet care assistance program of the Humane Society of Kent County that enables individuals in need to provide food for their pets.
