North Court Netters make mark at 2009 AYBT National Tournament

III national champions of the AYBT National Tournament.

III national champions of the AYBT National Tournament.

Two North Court Netters basketball teams attended the 2009 American Youth Basketball TOUR (AYBT) National Tournament in Fort Wayne, Ind., and both returned with trophies. The fourth-grade team was crowned G4-5 Division III national champions after defeating Findlay’s Future 24-17 in the championship tournament final. The sixth-grade team finished runner-up in G6 Division II after losing the championship final to the Michigan Monarchs.

AYBT is a summer, grade-based, youth basketball organization. The AYBT National Tournament was held July 18-21. 2009, and included AYBT teams from throughout the Midwest.

North Court Netters is a nonprofit basketball club supporting youth basketball in Rockford and its surrounding communities.
