Sheriff’s Office practices civil disturbance response

Sheriff-Civil-2

Members of the Sheriff’s Department Law Enforcement Division trained with the Mounted Unit (horses) in civil disturbance techniques on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Johnson Park in Walker. The sheriff’s office has been actively training in a deployment strategy referred to as Mobile Field Force.

The concept of Mobile Field Force was created in the spring of 1994 to maximize the effectiveness of initial response efforts by police when a major civil disturbance occurs. Civil disturbances, union conflicts, public demonstrations, and other events involving large or disorderly crowds require skillful response by police agencies.
