The Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) recently announced that Rockford High School is a recipient of a sportsmanship mini grant. MEEMIC Insurance is the MHSAA’s corporate partner in this initiative. MEEMIC Insurance representative Brian O’Neil recently presented the scholarship check to Director of Athletics Tim Erickson. The Brian O’Neil Insurance Agency also presented a check to match the MHSAA contribution.

These funds will be used to fund a program called “Captains Council.” Team captains and potential team leaders will meet once a month to improve leadership skills and work to improve school and team sportsmanship. The funds will be used to purchase textbooks and website licenses and to produce handouts and materials for instruction.
