
Rockford is coming off a great second-place finish at the OK Red conference match. The Lady Rams
beat Grand Haven, lost to Jenison, then beat Grandville, East Kentwood and Jenison, and then lost in the finals to Hudsonville.
The Lady Rams played Lowell Monday, Nov. 2, in the first districts match and won in four sets. Cailie Johnson had 16 kills, Andrea Kacsits had three blocks, Kim Weaver had 38 assists, and Jenna Lysne served very well with seven aces.
Rockford played Northview on Wednesday, Nov. 3, and won in three in the semifinal match. Johnson had 15 kills, Weaver had 36 assists, and three aces were contributed by Weaver, Halle Peterson and Sidney Rodriguez.
The finals were against Greenville, in which the Lady Rams won 25-19, 25-17 and 25-13. This is the fourth year in a row Rockford has won the district championship. Johnson had
12 kills, Weaver had 27 assists, and four aces were contributed by Weaver and Lysne.
Rockford will host regional competition this weekend, Nov. 13-14, and the Lady Rams will play Hudsonville in the first round. Rockford has beaten Hudsonville twice and lost to them twice.
