Motorcyclist injured in truck crash

A Rockford motorcyclist received multiple injuries when a truck turned into his path on Wednesday, December 2. William Mong lost the tip of his left thumb, had his left leg broken and sustained multiple rib fractures when his motorcycle collided head-on into a truck turning into Northtown Motor Homes Inc, 10947 Northland Drive about 1:30 p.m. Mong, who was southbound on Northland Drive, braked his vehicle for nearly 100 feet but was unable to avoid colliding with the truck, witnesses reported.

Rescue workers from Algoma Fire Department and Kent County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the accident. Deputy Dianna Lude said that the accident was still under investigation and additional information was not available as of press time.
