Concert to benefit RHS Youth Initiative

YouthInitiative

On Friday, Jan. 29, Vertigo Music in Grand Rapids will be hosting a benefit concert for Rockford High School’s Youth Initiative. Live bands will be playing from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and the cost is $5 at the door. All proceeds will go toward Youth Initiative’s Habitat for Humanity home.

This student group has been raising money since June 2009 for Habitat for Humanity with the goal of funding their own Habitat home. Recently Youth Initiative has decided to take on the project of restoring a home in foreclosure and making it suitable for a deserving family chosen by the nonprofit organization. By choosing to do a “rehab home,” Youth Initiative is closing in on their new goal of raising $38,000. Everyone is encouraged to attend this concert—it’s great music for a great cause.

Bands will include the Rockford High School band Johnny on Fire,

Lake Miniscule, and PK Fire. Vertigo Music is located at 129 S. Division Ave., Grand Rapids.
