Rockford band parents awarded Consumers Energy Foundation grant

The Consumers Energy Foundation has awarded a $300 grant to the Rockford Band Parents to recognize outstanding volunteerism by their employee, Sally Bower. The grant was awarded thru Consumers Energy’s Volunteer Investment Program (VIP).

Band Parent President Patt Clement accepts the grant check from band parent volunteer and Consumers Energy employee Sally Bower at April band parents meeting.

The VIP program was established to recognize the importance of CMS Energy and Consumers Energy employee and retiree volunteerism, and support nonprofit organizations making a difference in their communities. The grant money will be applied to the band parents general fund to help reduce the out-of-pocket costs to the students participating in the band program.

The Consumers Energy Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Consumers Energy.  It provides funding for a variety of areas including education, community and civic development, culture and the arts, social services, the environment, and emerging issues.
