Chamber of Commerce gears up for Community Golf Outing

The Rockford Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its annual Community Golf Outing. This is the 15th year the Chamber has sponsored the event and it is scheduled on the rolling links at Boulder Creek Golf Club Friday, May 7. Shotgun start begins at 9 a.m.

The event features 18 holes of golf, competitive hole events, continental breakfast, lunch buffet, a raffle, door prizes and networking opportunities.

John Decker Chevrolet Inc. is sponsoring the hole-in-one contest at the Chamber’s annual Community Golf Outing. A golfer has to sink their drive at a specific hole and they will be driving away in a new car. Pictured are (l–r) Bob Decker, John Decker’s father; Bob Kleinsteiber of Pico Engineering; Nancy Martin of United Bank; Amy Pollack of Boulder Creek Golf Club; John Decker of John Decker Chevrolet Inc.; Scott Duncan of Duncan Disposal; Lynda Nance of Nance-Martin Accounting Service; Lance Carlson of New York Life; Jason Rop of Blakeslee, Fry & Scales, PLC; and Tim Offer of PNC Bank.

The teams will be working for bragging rights and ownership of the new Chamber crystal trophy for an entire year. Proceeds of the golf outing support the Rockford Chamber of Commerce Scholarship fund. This year’s recipient of the $1,000 Chamber Scholarship is Rockford High School senior Brian Ginebaugh.

The Chamber would like to thank their sponsors and Boulder Creek Golf Club for hosting the event, the Golf Outing Steering Committee and the many volunteers who make it the huge success it always is.

Boulder Creek Golf Club is located at 5750 Brewer Ave. NE in Belmont, and has been an honored Chamber member since 1999.
