Girl Scouts gear up to spread hope, joy this Christmas

On November 9, the Rockford area Girl Scouts will meet at North Rockford Middle School to pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.

Operation Christmas Child is a kids-helping-kids project that uses simple, gift-filled shoeboxes to show millions of hurting children in over 100 countries that they are loved and not forgotten. The Girl Scouts will be packing empty shoeboxes with simple items most people take for granted, including toys, school supplies and toothbrushes. Operation Christmas Child collects the gift boxes and hand-delivers them to hurting children around the world.

If you would like to be a part of this project by donating items for the Girl Scouts’ packing party, please contact Jennie Nichols at (616) 874-1316.
