Volunteers needed to produce 100,000 lifesaving meals

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) provides lifesaving meals to people who need them most all over the world—from countries affected by natural disaster to places enduring economic despair. FMSC meals are distributed in nearly 70 countries through missionary partnerships at orphanages, schools, clinics, refugee camps and malnourishment centers. Bella Vista Church (BVC), as part of their missions’ celebration “Filling the Hole in Our Outreach,” is partnering with FMSC and community members to prepare and packspecially designed lifesaving meals that will be sent to a country in need. To succeed, they need your help!

Five hundred volunteers are needed to pack 100,000 meals on November 13 at BVC, 5100 Belding Rd., Rockford. Packing sessions will take place on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. with childcare being provided during the first shift. This is a family friendly event and children as young as five years old can pack with their parent. Community members may sign up for a packing session by going to www.bellavistachurch.org/#/whats-happening or by calling the church office at (616) 874-7727.

FMSC is a nonprofit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand pack meals designed especially for starving children, and FMSC ships the meals to nearly 70 countries around the world. Each meal costs only 17 cents to produce. For more information, visit www.fmsc.org.
