Vanderlaan

David Thomas Vanderlaan, 29, of Rockford died unexpectedly Saturday, October 1, 2010.

David leaves behind his loving wife Deanna, his stepdaughter Chelsea, and his young children, Chloe, 7, Haiden, 5, and Hannah, 3; his parents, Rev. Dr. James and Eunice Vanderlaan of Caledonia; three sisters and three brothers, their families and many friends.

David was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and all-season sports. David’s passion for music led him to play classical music while Deanna was carrying each of their three children during her pregnancies, then turned to a weekly Saturday morning singing ritual that the children always looked forward to. David’s enthusiasm in anything he did was admired greatly by family and friends.

David’s passing will leave a huge void in his children’s and families’ lives. A beautiful memorial service, officiated by guest Rev. Joel Brooks, was held on October 11, 2010, at Ideal Park Christian Reformed Church, Wyoming, Mich. It was asked that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Vanderlaan Children’s Fund at any Independent Bank location.
