Rockford choir members receive honors

Seventeen singers from the Rockford High School (RHS) choirs have been chosen for the Regional Honors Choir of the Michigan School Vocal Music Association (MSVMA). Rockford students represent the highest number chosen from any school in this region and almost 20 percent of the Region A High School Honors Choir, which consists of 91 singers from 31 different high schools.

The following students performed at Flushing High School on Saturday, Dec. 4: Emilee Bodien, Cameron Brown, Mackenzie Guest, Jeremy Hagedorn, Rachelle Knapp, Kevin Kruizenga, Corlene Laing, Julian Mondragon, Jill Nelson, Doni Owens, Lydia Rinzler, Megan Sanders, Christine Scales, Hannah Schroeder, Alyssa Scrimger, Brett Wiesenauer, and Christian Wojtowicz.

Bodien, Brown, Kruizenga, Mondragon, Nelson, Rinzler, Scales, Schroeder and Wiesenauer were also chosen for the State Honors Choir of the MSVMA. These students will perform at the DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids in January as part of the Michigan Music Conference.
