Veterans encouraged to apply for benefits

Time is running out. Effective January 27, 2010, ALL VETERANS will need to report income when applying for V.A. benefits.

If you were in a combat theater, you are currently not required to disclose your income when applying for V.A. benefits as long as you apply BEFORE January 27, 2011.

Every veteran is strongly encouraged to apply before this date. This cut-off date includes those who are serving now and all who have been discharged. You may pick up the form at the Rockford American Legion Post 102 during business hours. For additional information, call (616) 866-2001. Please hurry and apply—ALL of you! You deserve it.
