Rockford Lions Club Meeting—6 p.m. social, 6:30 dinner and 7 p.m. meeting at the Community Cabin, Rockford. Meetings held every second and fourth Thursday of each month. 

Saturday, January 29

A Visit to China—11 a.m. at Women’s City Club, 254 East Fulton, Grand Rapids. Dr. Perimin Ni from Grand Valley State University will present “China—Yesterday and Today” along with a calligraphy demonstration and Chinese fashion show. A Chinese buffet will follow the program. Cost for the program and buffet is $20 for adults and $6 for children ages 5-12. Prepaid reservations required. Call (616) 459-3321.

Monday, January 31

Blood Drive—noon to 7 p.m. at Rockford Area Donor Site, Community Cabin, 220 N. Monroe Street, Rockford.

Babytime—11 a.m. at Krause Memorial Library, 140 E. Bridge St., Rockford. Delight and stimulate your baby with songs, a story and playtime. Get to know other families and help your baby develop listening and language skills. For babies from birth to 18 months with a caregiver. For more information, call (616) 784-2007.

Tuesday, February 1

Pajama Storytime—6:30 p.m. at Krause Memorial Library, 140 E. Bridge St., Rockford. For families who can’t come to the library during the day, this offers an evening of stories and fun. Bring your teddy bear or other snuggly friend; pajamas optional! For children aged 6 and under with a caregiver. For more information, call (616) 784-2007.

Country Music—9:30 to 11:30 a.m. every Tuesday at Rockford Ambulance Community Center, corner of 10 Mile Road and Shaner Avenue in Rockford. Music by the Rogue River Band. Enjoy free coffee, tea and snacks.

A Visit to China—5 p.m. at Women’s City Club, 254 East Fulton, Grand Rapids. A musical program featuring traditional folk and minority dances by the Culture Performance Team of the Chinese Association, vocal and instrumental performances, plus the Lion Dance by members of the Oriental Martial Arts Center will follow a Chinese dinner. Cost for the program/dinner is $30 for adults and $8 for children ages 5-12. Prepaid reservations required. Call (616) 459-3321.

Wednesday, February 2

Preschool Storytime—10 and 11 a.m. at Krause Memorial Library, 140 E. Bridge St., Rockford. Preschoolers enjoy stories, rhymes, music, movement and more as they build their early literacy skills and develop a love of reading. For children ages 3 to 6. Toddler Time—10 and 11 a.m. at Krause Memorial Library, 140 E. Bridge St., Rockford. Nurture your toddler’s love of books through music, movement and stories while helping to develop their language, motor and social skills. For children ages 3 and under with a caregiver. Rockford Area Historical Society Meeting—1:30 p.m. at the Community Cabin, 220 N. Monroe St., Rockford, hosted by Norrine Elkins, Helen Hessler and Diane Skiver. Terry Konkle will present “History of Rockford Athletics.” For more information, call (616) 866-2235.

A Visit to China—11 a.m. at Women’s City Club, 254 East Fulton, Grand Rapids. Dr. Zhiqua Zhou of St. Mary’s Hospital will present “Chinese Medicine and Women’s Health” along with a Taichi demonstration by Dr. Glena Quarnstrom of Grand Valley State University.
