From the word go, the Rockford girls basketball team had their work cut out for the night of Friday, Feb. 18, as the Jenison team was matching Rockford’s skills and scoring abilities at every chance.
Rockford proved their dominance despite the tough competition and held the lead at halftime, 20-16. The Lady Rams kept the heat on through the second half and held on to win 42-40. Kimberly Weston, was the evening’s high scorer with 16 points, followed by Rachel Henry with six points. The win gives the girls a league record of 12-6.
At halftime, fans had the privilege of viewing Rockford’s Athletic Director Tim Erickson presenting Rams senior Ryan Majerle with a plaque in his honor in regards to his four-year full-ride basketball scholarship at Toledo University.
