Burgess graduates from basic training

Burgess third generation to serve in Army

Army PFC Adam D. Burgess graduated basic combat training at Fort Jackson, S.C., on February 24, 2011. During basic training this soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training in drill, Army history, core values and tradition, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading, land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.

PFC Burgess has moved on to Advanced Individual Training at Redrock Arsenal, Alabama.

Burgess graduated from Rockford High School in 2001. He is the son of Terry and Dave Burgess of Rockford. PFC Burgess proudly follows in the footsteps of his father Dave and his grandfathers, Melvin F. Burgess and Charles J. Huffman, all RA-U.S. Army veterans.
