Saturday, August 6

Rockford Farm Market—8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through October 29 in the South Squires Street parking lot, off Main St., downtown Rockford, featuring Michigan-grown produce, fresh baked goods, flowers, plants and much more.

Car Wash—9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of Rockford D&W, hosted by River Rock Church to raise funds for North Kent Community Services. Cars will be washed for a donation of cash or personal care items such as soap, shampoo, toilet paper, boxes of tissue, toothpaste, dish soap, and laundry detergent.

Monday, August 8

John Ball’s Traveling Zoo—2 p.m. at Krause Memorial Library, 140 E. Bridge St., Rockford. Animals across the world have unusual or interesting physical and behavioral characteristics that make them wildly fun to learn about, and John Ball Zoo wants to spread the word. The Z’s Kids’ Club Animal Outreach Program will consist of a 30- to 40-minute sit-down live animal presentation with animal biofacts (skulls, furs, etc.) and a take-home bookmark.
