Officer Robinson receives award

Dave Robinson

Rockford Police Officer Dave Robinson has been named the recipient of the West Michigan Crime Prevention Practitioner of the Year Award for 2011. The award is presented annually “to honor those who have demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the citizens of Michigan in the field of crime prevention,” according to a letter received by West Michigan Crime Prevention Association President Tom McCutcheon.

This is the second time that a Rockford police officer has received this pretigious award. Former Rockford Officer Rick Rafferty received the award
in 2006.

Officer Robinson has led the police department’s community policing efforts since 2009 and begins his new assignment as the Rockford Police D.A.R.E. officer this week. Officer Robinson will receive the award at an annual awards dinner in Grand Haven on September 16, 2011.
