Young angler catches nice fish at dam

Linda Garty, visiting her sister from Indiana, was enjoying some nice photographic moments in downtown Rockford on October 1. While down by the dam, she saw a teenager who had just landed himself a pretty nice salmon. John Young said the fish was nine pounds and 37 inches long. “It was a nice bundle to take home, as it was six miles one way and he had biked,” Garty said. After returning home to Indiana, Garty kindly sent along the photo and information to the Squire. Thanks very much and congratulations to John!
