Rockford volleyball completes OK Red regular—perfect

The Rams volleyball team completed their 2011 regular season with a perfect 7-0 record by beating Grand Haven last Thursday night, Oct. 20. The Rams, 48-8 overall, used precision passing and tough serving to beat Grand Haven at their home gym.

The Rams then wrapped up and brought home the championship of the Mattawan Invitational last Saturday, Oct. 22, with wins over Okemos, Lakeview, Mattawan, Hudsonville, Detroit Seaholm, and St. Philips Catholic Central.

Rockford’s next play will be in the OK Red tournament at Grand Haven High School on Saturday, Oct. 29. MHSAA state tournament play begins Monday, Oct. 31, with Rockford hosting the first round of districts.
