Local scuba club proves generosity

Derek Wheeler delivers an astonishingly large bag of toys to The Rockford Squire Toys for Tots box. Looking like Santa himself, toting the haul, Wheeler explained the donations came from the members of the Grand Rapids Scuba Club, of which he is also a member. Wheeler said the club numbers about 35, so many of the members contributed many toys. Wheeler happens to be the son of Barb Wheeler, familiar to Squire readers as she was pictured after she retired from her position at the Post Office Annex and was driven away in a Pederson Funeral Home hearse by her boss, Postmaster Fred Farage.
