MacGregor hosts state champion Rockford varsity volleyball team at Capitol

Lawmaker honors championship team and coach on statewide title

State Rep. Peter MacGregor, R-Rockford, is pictured with the 2011-2012 Rockford High School volleyball team and Coach Kelly Delacher. The Lady Rams recently captured the Class A state volleyball title, and were honored at the Capitol on December 15.

State Rep. Peter MacGregor was joined in Lansing on Thursday, Dec. 15 by the Class A state champion Rockford High School varsity volleyball team.

The Lady Rams visited the state Capitol to celebrate their state title win. MacGregor was proud to welcome the student-athletes to Lansing, where they enjoyed a tour of the Capitol building and were recognized by all of the representatives present in the House chamber during session on December 15.

“It was my honor to congratulate the Lady Rams for their wonderful athletic achievement at the state Capitol,” said MacGregor, R-Rockford. “These young women have shown remarkable dedication both on the court and in the classroom, bringing great pride to our community.”

The Rockford High School champions made the trip to Lansing with Head Coach Kelly Delacher, where they were presented with a tribute signed by MacGregor and Gov. Rick Snyder.
