The Rams Hockey ADM/Mite team’s season is well underway with tons of learning and fun being had by all players. The Rams recently  participated in both an ADM/Mites exchange and a cross-ice jamboree. These events give young players the chance to play both three-on-three and four-on-four hockey in a cross-ice setting and put to the test some of their practice skills. The Rams are having a great time this season focused on the “fun”damentals of hockey.

Rams Hockey follows the American Development Model (ADM) at this age of player, which is considered to be the “gold standard” program developed by USA Hockey developmental experts. The ADM philosophy focuses on using small-area games during practice to develop skills, keeping skaters active at all times by separating into small practice groups,  and having as much fun as possible! All this while teaching the game of hockey in an enjoyable and positive social setting.

Later this month the Rams will be heading to Ferris State University (FSU) to participate in an ADM/Mites exchange during the day, where the rink will be a flurry of activity with cross-ice games all afternoon. Even more fun for the Rams will come later on when the Rams attend an FSU hockey game and get to skate with the Bulldog hockey players immediately following.
