Cub Scouts from Den Six, Pack 3265 visited the Rockford Squire newspaper on Thursday, January 12 to learn about communication. The youngsters, from the Ada Vista Elementary Spanish Immersion program, had many interesting questions about how a newspaper is created. They looked at a copy of the first edition of the Weekly Rockford Register from Feb. 8, 1871 and compared it to the most recent publication. The Scouts also were able to look at the bound books of the newspaper and see what was front page news the week they were born long ago back in 2005. We hope they will retain their interest in newspapers.
