Rockford girls water polo remains perfect in conference play

Ellianna Raymond makes another one of her many saves against East Kentwood.

Rockford travelled to East Kentwood to take on a strong team on April 17 and emerged victorious. The Lady Rams took a commanding 6-0 lead after the first quarter and this really set the tone for the rest of the game. Leading the way with three goals in the first period was Adrianna Craft, who finished with six goals for the game. Other scoring contributors leading to a final score of 12-6 were Casey Wolfer (two goals), Kara Vanderwater (two), and Marie Siegel and Abby Finlayson with a goal apiece. Rockford played great defense against Michigan-bound Julia Riemersma, who finished with two goals for East Kentwood.

After coming off an excellent game on Tuesday, the Rams took on Portage Central on Thursday, April 19. The girls continued their offensive surge from the last game and after the first quarter were leading 6-0 and with a final score of 19-1. There were many girls who tallied goals in this game and the offense was hitting on all cylinders. Goalie Ellianna Raymond and the stingy defense allowed only one goal for the game, showing that this team can play on both sides of the ball.
