Rams girls lacrosse victorious on ‘senior day’

Rockford hosted Grosse Pointe North on “senior day” Saturday, May 5, as the Rams honored their seniors. All 11 seniors started and led the Rams to a quick 5-0 lead as Kendra Winicki started the scoring less than a minute in to the game.

The seniors for Rockford are Kendra Winicki, Morgan Stage , Maddie Ek, Carly Dew, Tara Pluger , Rosie Morrison, Sawyer Rocheleau, Kelli Raymond, Hannah Maroe, Morgan Swartout, and Jenna Chaffee.

The Rams led 9-0 at the half with Chaffee making four saves between the pipes in the first half and five more in the second half. The Ram defense was stifling out in front of her.

Eleven Rams scored on the day, led by Erika Neumen with three goals and an assist, sophomore Meghan Datema with two goals, Winicki with one goal and an assist, Stage with a goal and an assist, Pluger with a goal and assist, and Dew, Morrison, Raymond, Maroe, Izzy Vickers, and Megan Hodgman all added a goal each.
