Free Meal for Northern Kent County Families—6 to 7 p.m. at the Our Lady of Consolation Family Center, 4865 Eleven Mile Rd., Rockford, every Thursday. No charge; no registration required. Provided by a partnership between Our Lady of Consolation Parish and God’s Kitchen, a program of Catholic Charities West Michigan.

Open Mic—6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Garden Park Stage, downtown Rockford near the dam, every Thursday through August 16, 2012. Performers sign up at the stage at 5:30 p.m.

Volunteer Tutors Needed—6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Literacy Center of West Michigan, 1120 Monroe Ave. NW, Suite 240, Grand Rapids, for an information session for prospective volunteer tutors. 2nd Annual Art & Entertainment Event—5 to 11 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at Blandford Nature Center, 1715 Hillburn Ave. NW, Grand Rapids, in conjunction with SiTE:Lab and local colleges. Site-specific projects will be installed throughout Blandford, live music will be performed, food and alcoholic beverages will be available, live t-shirt printing and horse-drawn wagon rides will also be available. Lifewalk 2012—10 a.m. (registration at 9 a.m.) at Morley Park, Cedar Springs. Help Alpha Family Center celebrate their 20th year of helping Cedar Springs families, teenagers and babies.

Good Stuff Garage Sale—9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen, 4658 West River Dr., Comstock Park. All proceeds go toward Bangla Bible Camp 2012.
