Rockford varsity boys basketball players play on

After this year’s varsity boys basketball team tied as conference champs, won districts and regionals, and played at Breslin to become state finalists, three of the players have recently committed to play the game they love at the next level while they earn their degrees.

They have played together, along with several others on this year’s varsity team, since third grade in American Youth Basketball Tournaments, Gus Mackers, MVP and Courthouse leagues and many other tournaments to pursue their knowledge and passion for basketball in hopes to someday play at the next level.

Ivy Johnson and Scott Nikodemski will attend Alma College. Mitch Caywood will attend Lake Forest College in Chicago. They’d like to thank all of their coaches through the years for helping them prepare to live their dreams playing college basketball.
