Donald Hector of Rockford matched five numbers in the Mega Millions drawing of July 10 to win a very respectable $250,000!
Don and his wife Gloria, who have been married for 47 years, already have plans for their windfall; they intend to help some family members.
“I have a son, two grandsons, and a nephew that I’d like to help,” Hector said. A vacation trip to Alaska might also be a possibility.
The winning ticket was sold at Rockford Amoco #35 located at 470 E. Division St. in Rockford.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Michigan Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2011, the contribution to schools was over $727.3 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed over $16 billion to education in Michigan.
