Cub Scout Pack 3264 on board at USS Silversides

On June 29, 43 members of Rockford Cub Scout Pack 3264, hailing from Our Lady of Consolation, Parkside Elementary School, Valley View Elementary School, and other areas of the Rockford community gathered at the Great Lakes Naval Memorial Museum for a night of adventure on the high seas. In the evening, the boys gathered for a brief dinner before being treated to tours of the museum and guided tours aboard the museum’s primary attraction: the USS Silversides. Then, after the museum closed, everyone boarded the submarine for an overnight adventure, where they got to experience a bit of what life was like aboard a WWII U.S. submarine. The boys watched videos, played games, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves while exploring their surroundings and pretending to be submarine sailors for the night.
