Rockford is a birthday tradition, family tradition for visitors

Sue Corey and Kristin Helms couldn’t say enough about how much they love visiting Rockford when overheard in Kimberly’s Boutique on Friday, October 12. Kristin said her middle son was born on her mother’s birthday and the double day celebration was the cause for her trip from home in Connecticut to Michigan and ultimately, to Rockford and Kimberly’s.

“I pulled him out of school and we took a trip to Michigan to celebrate,” said Kristin.

“We just love Rockford,” said Sue. “My stepson and daughter and grandkids all love to come to Rockford to the Corner Bar and to visit the town, it’s become our family tradition. Sue, from Canadian Lakes, said the first place the extended family comes when flying in to town is Rockford, for the atmosphere, the friendly people and the shopping and dining. Both Sue and Kristin love Kimberly’s, and Kristin also adores shopping at Old World Olive Press.

The happy pair were all smiles when they agreed to share their story with Squire readers and noted the birthday boy, Nate, just turned twelve and Sue, amazingly, just turned 70. Happy birthday to both!
