Mrs. Eleanor C. Matz, age 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 22, 2012. For 35 years Eleanor was a seamstress and owned her own home business, retiring in 1987. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard L. Matz, and her son, Neal W. Matz. Eleanor is survived by her son and his wife, Bruce L. and Linda L. Matz; daughters-in-law, Ann Matz and Susan Matz; brother, Kenneth Sheldon; sister-in-law, Mrs. Jeanette Sheldon; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. The service for Mrs. Matz will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Courtland-Oakfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Eckert officiating. Interment in White Swan Cemetery . Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Courtland-Oakfield United Methodist Church , 10300 Myers Lake Ave Ne Rockford, MI 49341. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the Pederson Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
