Our Lady of Consolation 8th graders trade in Geometry books for Ipads

Last year Our Lady of Consolation School purchased a classroom set of ipads. This year the 8th grade class traded in their old-fashioned Geometry textbook for a common core based Geometry ibook. The program is interactive and user-friendly and has introduced a whole new way of learning math to these students. OLC’s 8th grade math teacher, Ted Lang, said the students are “using drawing apps for figures and areas, calculator apps for graphing, and various other apps for quick real-world applications to Geometry.” He and his students hope that all books will work like this in the near future.

All students at Our Lady of Consolation have been able to receive this enriched learning experience from the ipads and many other forms of technology in the classroom.

For more than 30 years, Our Lady of Consolation has served as a beacon of faith and knowledge to area families eager to enlighten the hearts and minds of young learners. Here educators share a love of God and a passion for guiding each child’s spiritual and academic journey. It’s a place where trust and respect go hand-in-hand. At Our Lady of Consolation we strive to challenge the mind, strengthen the heart, and nourish the spirit of every child from preschool through 8th grade.
