Rockford couple’s wedding to be featured on reality tv

It was difficult to arrange a wedding with the bride and groom in California and the mother of the bride in Arizona. When the venue for the reception was suddenly unavailable at the last minute, the mother of the bride put in a call to David Tutera of Women’s Entertainment Channel’s My Fair Wedding.

The show features the trials and tension that can happen at life’s milestone moments, and often catches glimpses of brides transitioning to bridezillas. Carol Nemic, of Rockford, mother of the groom, believes her new daughter in law is nothing short of wonderful and sweet—which the world can see when the wedding is aired on WE tv at 9 p.m. Saturday, November 3.

Bride Mia Bowen, daughter of Roy and Cindy Bowen, is a resident of Chandler, Arizona, a graduate of Arizona State College and is employed by Pharmalink Pharmacutical.

Groom Matthew Nemic is the son of Tom and Carol Nemick, of Rockford. He is a graduate of Rockford High School, and Arizona State University. He is employed by Sun America.

The wedding took place August 4, 2012 at St. Marimillian Kolbe Catholic Church in Westlake Village, California with Katie McCreless as Maid of Honor and Jeff Burg as Best Man.

“One of the things they really pushed for is they wanted to be married in a Catholic church and have their priest at the ceremony,” Carol described. She said the show puts on amazing weddings and documents the process along the way. She said the show staff turned up with cameras and equipment a full four weeks before the event and filmed all day long. “The hard thing was they had microphones on from 8 a.m. until about 9 at night,” she stated, with the point that such scrutiny must obviously be exhausting.

According to Carol, Tutera interviewed the couple to discover what their perfect wedding dream might include, and the staff brought in a new brides gown, bridesmaids dresses, entertainment, the cake and all the bells and whistles of a first-class-and-then-some ceremony.

Some of the past show weddings included those with a theme—ancient Rome, mermaids, a masquerade wedding and more. She wouldn’t give away this bride’s theme, or if there were any bumps along the way to have it all happen. Put a note in your schedule to see it for yourself.

“There is a surprise, but I won’t tell what it is, you have to watch the show,” hinted Carol.

  1. I did not like the episode with Mia and Matt in My Fair Wedding. They were extremely ungrateful and the mother of the bride should be ashamed of herself. The whole episode was extremely depressing. David should spend his time and money only on people that will appreciate him!
