Walk – don’t crawl – on Thanksgiving eve in downtown Rockford

by CLIFF AND NANCY HILL

Local craft brew enthusiasts are invited to get a first taste of Rockford Brewing Company’s (RBC) ability with a special one evening “Pub Crawl”.

Prior to the soon-to-be-announced grand opening date of the downtown Rockford brewery, RBC has partnered with select downtown Rockford bars in an early keg release of their signature beers.

Participating in the event, to be held Wednesday, Nov. 21 from 5 p.m. to close, are; Cinco de Mayo, The Corner Bar, Grill One Eleven, Reds on the River, Rockford Lanes, Rogue River Tavern, and Sam’s Joint.

Each of these fine establishments serve food in addition to libation. All are unique in their own way and, if you’ve never frequented any, this is a perfect time to discover what you’ve been missing.

Just one of seven styles of beer will be on tap at each location. In order to experience and critique all seven beers, participants may want to visit each Pub.

RBC invites the public to “Come on down”, (to downtown Rockford that is). All of the participating venues are literally a “stones throw” from one another. It won’t be necessary to crawl, as a short stroll from door to door will suffice.

“Enjoy yourself responsibly and Happy Thanksgiving.”
