Reds partners with the community and schools this holiday season

The Rockford community is well known for its Norman Rockwell-like holiday spirit, built on a picturesque downtown, one-of-a-kind shops, the charm of family owned businesses, and the tradition-building events like the Santa parade, holiday open houses, free horse and carriage rides, and cocoa and cookies with Santa and his reindeer. Since 2006, Reds on the River has embraced this tradition and created a few memory making traditions of its own. Two popular offerings also give back to the community and area nonprofits.

Once again, Reds will partner with area high schools to offer strolling carolers on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm. Members of Rockford High Schools Chamber Singers will perform at Reds on November 27 and 29th, and December 4, 6 and 11th. On December 13 and 18th, members of Forest Hills Eastern’s top choir will perform; and on December 20th, Reds will have a special performance by alumni guests. In exchange for the students’ performances, Reds will make a financial contribution to the schools’ choir boosters to underwrite their musicals or choir expenses.

Reds on the River in Rockford has partnered with local, non-profit organizations and will donate 10% of a person’s gift card sale to the benefiting organization requested by the purchaser.

The program kicks off November 26th and runs through December 31st. Those wishing to purchase Reds holiday gift cards for family, friends and colleagues may stop into Reds during normal business hours and designate the organization they wish to receive 10% of the total gift card sale. Reds will track sales by each organization and send each organization a check after the New Year.
