Elementary Students Display Gingerbread Houses for Charity

Rockford Preschool students proudly display their gingerbread house.

The Heart of Rockford merchants and the Rockford Chamber of Commerce have partnered with Rockford elementary schools and the Rockford Preschool to raise money for each school and/or their chosen beneficiary.

Rockford Preschool house will be displayed at Grand Cakes in support of Rockford Preschool. The elementary schools’ houses will be displayed as follows: Cannonsburg at The Corner Bar for their Student Council; Crestwood at Rudy Kazoody’s for their Student Council; Lakes at Rockford Community Federal Credit Union for their Student Council; Meadow Ridge at Independent Bank for their PTO; Parkside at A Charmed Life… Nail Salon for Family Promise of Grand Rapids; Roguewood at WAR Chest Boutique for North Kent Service Center and Roguewood Cares Program; and Valley View at JT Stitchery for Relay for Life.

Each group was provided a gingerbread house for assembly and decorating by students. The houses will be on display at the businesses from December 1-16, with collection jars for donations. We encourage the public to visit and all donations are appreciated! Final checks will be presented to the groups at the Rockford Pavilion on December 19 at 7 p.m.
