Rotary sells first fundraiser ticket

by STEVE STEELANDT

The day before the printers had the tickets ready for me to pick up, I bumped into Pam in the lobby of ChiroHealth of Rockford. I was carrying my proofed copy of the ticket, so I handed it to her to look at as she headed down the hallway into one of the treatment rooms. Just wanted her to be able to tell a few people about Rockford Rotary’s biggest charitable fundraiser.

A couple of minutes later, Pam came back to the lobby, carrying the photocopy of the ticket. I thought that she was just returning it to me as a courtesy. But, no! She had filled out the ticket stub & handed me thirty dollars so that she could buy a ticket! I explained that we wouldn’t even have the tickets until the next day and that I had simply shown her a copy of ticket #1. She replied that she ought to be able to buy the first ticket, then, and I laughed while promising her that she would, indeed, be the buyer of ticket #1. And, she is. Here is a photo of her holding that ticket. Good luck, Pam!
