Occupy Pando Event this coming Saturday, December 29, 2012

Occupy Pando, a “throwback half-pipe contest”, will take over the slopes of Pando Winter Sports Park on Saturday, December 29, 2012.  The event, as described by event coordinator Zeppelin Zeerip, will “take influences from 1980’s half-pipe contests and combine them with modern elements to create something truly unique.

A contest unlike any other.”  In addition to the competition, there will be live music, sponsors on site, prizes for the best 80’s dress, and thousands of dollars in product will be given away. Novak Snurfboards will also be on site with ‘snurfers’ (traditional binding-less snowboards) to demo.  A collection of antique boards will also be on display.

This season, Pando will mark its 50th year in business; a monumental date for the small resort that remains a popular destination for snowboarders, skiers, and families who take advantage of the tubing hill. Occupy Pando offers an opportunity for anyone who has ever appreciated Pando’s homegrown appeal, to come out and watch today’s kids shred the pipe and indulge in a little Pando pandemonium! Support local snowboarding!
