Allan John, son of Albert and Edna Doerr and Doreen Catherine, daughter of Urban and Alice Bott, were married on January 24, 1953 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Remus, MI.
The couple has six children; Sherry and Scott De Witt; Lynn and Craig Holck; Patrick and Sue Doerr; Wayne and Darcy Doerr; Anne and Clay Towns and Greg and Kathy Doerr.
They have 13 grandchildren; Rebecca MacDonald; Laura Schalk; Emily Holck; Mallory Towns; Kelli Doerr; Andrea Towns; Alex Holck; Chelsea Towns; Zack Doerr; Nate Doerr; Colton Sensiba; Sam Doerr; Kate Doerr. They have five great-grandchildren.
Al retired from Rapids Motor Parts, Grand Rapids and has worked for Pederson 
Funeral Home, Rockford, for 20 years. Doreen is retired from Wolverine World Wide, where she worked in the administrative offices.
Both volunteer for Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, the Grand Rapids Home for the Veterans and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, where they have been members for 55 years.
