Obit-DilayMr. Walter Dilay, age 89, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 31, 2013. After graduating from Cass Tech, he earned his BS degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan . Walter was a member of Hope Community Church and was a former President of the American Welding Society. When he believed in something, he fought for it. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise on September 15, 2010, his son, Andy, and his brother, Morris. Walter is survived by his children, Jacquelyn and John Donehoo, and Nancy Marie and Roger Sigmon; 5 grandchildren, Jill and Marty Landes, Jeff and Emily Donehoo, Jon and Gwen Donehoo, Shelley and Erik Nelson, Janelle and Andy Covington; 10 great-grandchildren, Marty III, Mason, Madelyn, Makenna, Daniel, Nolan, Kevin, Rose, Timothy, and Samantha. The Service for Mr. Dilay will be Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Hope Community Church ,7000 Myers Lake, NE , Rockford with Pastor Scott Swix officiating. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hope Community Church. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. “GO BLUE”
