Lakes Elementary kindergarten students earn Running Club wristbands

K-2-runningThese adorable kindergarten students from Lakes Elementary are working hard and sharing PE teacher, Heidi Greenland’s passion for keeping “fit” while having fun. The students (from Traci Beier’s classroom) are shown proudly displaying the wristbands they earned during Running Club. This prepares students for the upcoming “Feelin’ Good Mileage Club” (sponsored by 5/3 River Bank Run specifically for children) which starts in April for those students choosing to participate.  In addition to the Running Club, students also take part in other programs  Mrs. Greenland has initiated for her students (grades K-2), such as “Lakes Fit Kids Challenge” and “Nutrition Challenge”.  These programs incorporate fun activities and rewards while teaching young students the value of healthy food choices and exercise.
