Rockford Ski Teams compete at Regional

Macauley, Donley, Ford and Avink brothers move on to individual State Finals

The Rockford High School ski teams competed at Boyne Highlands in the Division I regional finals for downhill ski racing on Valentine’s Day. With a steady rain/snow mix throughout the day, the racers consistently delivered, pushing to achieve their best.

The Rockford Boys took the fourth place regional win with an amazing number of four individual State qualifiers. Brothers Ben and Nic Avink along with Ryan Donley will ski Slalom at the State Finals. Ben, Nic and Kam Ford will battle the Giant Slalom.

Macauley qualifying for the State Finals, will compete in the Giant Slalom.

The qualifiers will train up north this weekend then head to Boyne Mountain for the February 25th State Championship.
